We recently got a new puppy, a Chihuahua/Pug mix, a “Chug.” 🙂 He was almost immediately named Leopold — it just seemed to fit him, although there were several discussions over the next several days about changing his name, none of which resulted in an actual change. “Leopold” had already been ingrained in most of us.
Having a puppy is a pain. It’s also very rewarding. Not sure which wins out in these early days of crate training, middle-of-the-night outings, biting everything in sight – including fingers, toes, and clothing, trying to teach him to sit, to stay, not to bark, etc. However, there are the kisses we receive and the belly rubs we give and every once in a while he’ll calm down enough to actually lay in our laps and be loved on (not very often yet!). I guess it’s a good thing he’s so darn cute.
